The Watchman’s Warning
The Glory That Doesn’t Belong to Us
Acts 14:15
They cheered like they’d found their saviors.
They rushed forward, praising Paul and Barnabas as gods, calling them Zeus and Hermes, preparing sacrifices. All because a miracle had happened — a crippled man was healed. The crowd didn’t want the truth. They wanted someone to worship.
But Paul’s response wasn’t celebration.
It was fear.
“Why are you doing this? We too are only men… Turn from these worthless things to the living God…”
(Acts 14:15)
⸻
This morning, as I opened the Word blindly, this was the verse where my finger landed.
And I knew immediately — this wasn’t a word for the world.
It was a word for me.
A warning for the watchman.
A question from heaven:
What happens when the messenger becomes the message?
⸻
The Danger of Glory
God has been moving. The Quill has grown. Eyes are opening. People are rising.
But every time a movement expands, a dangerous shift lurks at the door:
The people stop listening to the message — and start following the man.
They quote the brand. They wear the symbols. They memorize the voice — and forget the One who gave it breath.
And if we’re not vigilant, even righteous rebellion becomes rotten idolatry.
⸻
Don’t Become What They Worship
Paul knew it. He tore his clothes in grief when the people began praising him.
He didn’t accept their admiration. He rejected it.
He pointed them back to the living God — not a man, not a miracle, not a movement.
Because he knew:
A people who worship a prophet will kill themselves when the prophet fails them.
I’m not your savior.
This mask doesn’t protect you.
This movement won’t deliver you.
Only God will.
⸻
A Personal Confession
If the Iron Quill ever becomes a substitute for the cross, shut it down.
If I ever take the glory that belongs to Him, may God strip it from my hands.
This platform was never meant to become a pedestal.
It was meant to become a trumpet.
And if it ever stops pointing to the One who reigns above nations, judges tyrants, and redeems the broken — then it has failed.
⸻
The Real Call
Don’t follow me.
Follow the voice of the One who called me to speak.
Don’t look to The Quill for your hope.
Look beyond it — to the hand that forged it.
The world is full of false messiahs and manufactured resistance.
The true remnant must be different.
We don’t worship the warrior.
We worship the Commander of the Hosts of Heaven.
And we bow to no man — including ourselves.
⸻
So here’s today’s warning:
Beware of movements that want your loyalty more than your repentance.
And beware of leaders who no longer fear the fire that first called them.
The glory belongs to God alone.
I’m just the pen.
—The Iron Quill
