They need to create a set of core values which everyone can agree upon; positive values to uplift the country, easily understood and appreciated. Then those on the fringe who have their own pet peeves but share the core values can be welcomed but told their pet peeve is THEIRS, not the party's platform... and if the peeve is incompatible, either leave or keep it to yourself.
